Congratulations to Sandro Echaquan, Susan Jewitt and Gail Redpath who received Awards of Excellence in Nursing for their exceptional commitment to their profession and to their patients presented by Health Minister Tony Clement. The Award of Excellence in Nursing celebrates the dedication, initiative and excellence of nurses employed by First Nations communities, Health Canada and Inuit communities who work in partnership to improve the health of Canada's Aboriginal peoples.

Congratulations to Patricia Cormier, of the sector Nurse Sciences of the University of Moncton, campus of Edmundston (UMCE), which gained the third prize in a contest of the French organization Association FormaTic Santé located in Nimes, in France. It presented a conference entitled “Nursing care and pharmacology”. The presentation of the course supports a regular use of learning technologies by the students.

Congratulations to Margot Phaneuf, C.M., Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Member of the Order of Canada. As a professor of nursing science and an international consultant, Margot Phaneuf has been contributing to the development of her profession for more than 40 years. She is especially renowned as an outstanding teacher and made her talents available to Quebec colleges and universities before teaching in several countries in Europe and the Middle East. This remarkable educator has published many works that have been translated into several languages and are reference tools for nursing. Her teaching methods and writings have made a great contribution to raising the level of training in Canada and abroad.
